The Annexe is perfectly located in the village of Mary Tavy, on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park. There are many great walks that begin right from your doorstep leading directly onto the moors with no need to drive anywhere. There are three great local pubs within easy walking distance. The ancient Stannary Town of Tavistock lies just four miles away, with a pannier market of local crafts and produce, great shopping, cafes, restaurants and many noteworthy historical sites. The Annexe is a mere 45 minutes drive to the rugged north Cornish coast and the same distance to the more tranquil south Devon coastline. The Eden Project is a scenic one hour drive. The historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth are both around 45 minutes drive.
